A Bucket of Blood (1959)
American comedy horror.
A dim-witted busboy finds acclaim as an artist for a plaster-covered dead cat that is mistaken as a skillful statuette. The desire for more praise soon leads to an increasingly deadly series of works.
The film’s origin came about when American-International Pictures approached Roger Corman to direct a horror film for them but only allotted a small budget and an extremely limited schedule. Corman took the challenge, but wasn’t interested in directing a traditional horror film, so he and screenwriter Charles B. Griffith came up with the concept of creating a black comedy instead.
Roger Corman and Charles B. Griffith developed the idea and basic outline of the film in one day.
The film was shot in five days on a budget of only $50,000.
